Vizual Edge issued patent # 7326060

On January 16, 2008 The United States Patent and Trademark Office issued notification that the Vizial Edge Performance Trainer (Application 10/142,360) will be issued Patent # 7326060 on February 5, 2008.

The present invention relates generally to a system and method for evaluating and training visual skills; and more particularly, to a software program for use on a computer, that allows a user to evaluate and train the user's visual skills without the assistance of a physician or trainer, and to a method of self-evaluating and training one's visual skills at a user's desired pace.

Performance Trainer™

Visual Skills Evaluation allows you to evaluate the visual skills pre and post training whether it is one athlete or large numbers of athletes.
Visual Skills Training will allow you to improve your visual skills through a number of training sessions.

The Vizual Edge Performance Trainer™ contains a counter which illustrates the number of sessions you have used from your purchased package.

Red /Blue Filter Glasses – The Red Blue filter glasses are required for some of the training exercises.

The Edge Score™ Spreadsheet is available for team use with the VEPT. This spreadsheet is useful to manage large amounts of data collected from the VEPT Evaluation Section. Data collected will allow for the comparison of pre and post training scores as well as one athlete to another.

Vizual Edge Performance Trainer designed for: Individual Athletes or families that would like to share the VEPT: This new product allows the athlete to begin training their visual skills economically. To meet your individualized training needs, the package can be purchased with different numbers of sessions. Additional sessions can be purchased on line. Instructions are found on the product under the Purchase Sessions Menu. Team and Training Facility Versions are also available. Larger session packages are also available. Session Packages that are 200 or larger may be divided among multiple CDs

Minimum System Requirements: VEPT for Microsoft Windows (English and Spanish Language versions)

Minimum system requirement for the Vizual Edge Performance Trainer™ for Microsoft Windows is at least a Pentium III 600Mhz (or equivalent) with at least 64 MB of memory, running either Windows 98, ME, XP or Windows Vista.

Minimum System Requirements: VEPT for Apple MacOS (only available in English Language)

Minimum system requirement for the Vizual Edge Performance Trainer™ for Apple MacOS is any Macintosh computer with a G4 or higher Power PC processor running Mac OS® X 10.1 or higher. Also compatible with Intel Mac.

Input Devices:

The VEPT will allow you to train using your computer's keyboard, joystick or gamepad. Here are some gamepads which have been tested with the VEPT:

Logitech Dual Action Gamepad (Available currently from Best Buy or Circuit City)
Logitech Wingman Precision USB (May no longer be available)

Typical Training Sessions:

Training is typically performed 1 to 3 times per week for between 4 and 12 weeks. Each session lasts up to 20 minutes. The typical athlete will use 25 to 40 sessions. The use of sessions will depend on the number of athletes and how often they actually train. The cost of training can be as little as $4.00 per session.

Additional Sessions:

Larger session packages are also available. Session Packages that are 200 or larger may be divided among multiple CDs. Additional sessions may be purchased at any time from the Sessions Order Page.

90 Day Limited Warranty:

VEPT is licensed to a single computer (the "Registered Computer") for the specific number of sessions purchased during the computer registration process. Once activated, the VEPT can only be used on the Registered Computer unless the user purchases additional license codes.

For your privacy, we do not track the use of individual sessions. For this reason, in the event that the CD-ROM is lost or the Registered Computer is lost, stolen or reformatted, a new license must be purchased. However, should any of these situations occur within 90 days of purchase, please contact Vizual Edge. A discounted replacement license code may be available. Vizual Edge reserves the right to discontinue, withhold, modify or suspend this offer for any reason, at anytime, without additional notice and without incurring additional obligations.
